Coming together

Most projects begin with inspiration images pulled by the client and the designer defining the perfect dream home. These images create a pattern that will define the client’s style – it is my job to interpret the patterns and create a unique design for each project.
The concept for this suite centered around images of existing furniture, bedding and colors. The challenge was to make those items look new and inspired!!

This finish board is a work in progress as it was created early in the design process. My client wants to use an existing black and white color scheme in this guest bedroom, so I chose a bold black framed mirror for the bathroom. The black from the mirror will be softened by the Carrara marble countertops and tiles. I love this combination of mosaic selections, especially the triangular patterned mosaic tile with gray dot accents!!
As the process evolves, pieces are removed and added to this finish board. The Koehler Purist fixtures, Emtek hardware and Schoolhouse Electric lights add a modern touch to the space.

The black and white color scheme will be updated with buffalo check and houndstooth patterned fabrics in the bedroom. These fun fabrics are a great way to add pops of style to existing bedding.
For a personal touch, we will enlarge and frame vintage photographs of the client’s family. What better way to make a new family home welcome your guests than with beautiful memories from the past!!
